More than 80 per cent of crime victims in Northern Ireland are not confident they will receive justice and the system needs to improve.

Dr Katie McGaughey said about this week's Victims Conference:
“Today, we have brought together those who work with victims, who understand victims and who can hopefully make a difference in driving forward improvements in the system.”

It was great to bring together PhD researchers and research staff (PDRAs and postdocs) yesterday from across the Schools of Psychology, Nursing and Midwifery, the Centre for Public Health, and Social Sciences, Education and Social Work for a networking lunch.

The event featured a panel discussion on building confidence when presenting, with Dr Louise O'Meara, Dr Alice Dubois and Dr Jessica Cherry sharing their experiences and practical tips on everything from managing nerves to responding to challenging audience questions.

The discussion was followed by an engaging Q&A session and an opportunity to continue conversations over lunch, helping colleagues connect and share experiences across disciplines.

A big thank you to our panellists and everyone who attended.

On Wednesday we visited Learning in Harmony with Donkeys to explore the world of Equine-Facilitated Learning and experience the incredible connection between people and donkeys.

We were greeted by the friendliest of donkeys and sheep and left feeling refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated about how different types are interventions are key to supporting wellbeing and learning.

Thanks to Anne, Norman and the four-legged family for an amazing afternoon!
