Harry Potter Society at Queen's This page is to promote the new, prospective, Harry Potter society at Queen's University.

Activity/ Event Suggestions so far:

Meetings in Ryan's Bar (which serves butterbeer)

Sorting Ceremony
Horcrux Hunting
Movie Marathon
Debates
Cocktail roulette with Professor Snape

Soooo......

The society doesn't exist (yet) but if there was enough interest then maybe we could get the ball rolling on setting one up! Possible events could involve debates, 'Potter and Pints

', fundraising and generally the promotion of not just Harry Potter but literature in general. This would be a great way for new students to meet people with similar interests and could be great craic. So comment with ideas/opinions and pm me if you'd be interest in helping to possibly set this up!

EDIT: Right people it's been really difficult to find a suitable venue for the first meeting because I can't be sure of numbers etc. So the first meeting will be in The Speakeasy on Wednesday at 6:00 so spread the word. Please note that this meeting is for those that are interested in joining the committee, so if you don't know your student number write it down and bring it lol Can't wait to meet everyone! John

Right guys, Wednesday seems to be an issue for some people so I'm going to re-schedule for next week at some time. A lot of people have been in contact about difficulties with timing and so on, so I will try my very best to accomodate everyone, however when I work out a date and time for next week I'm going to have to stick firmly to it as unfortunately its inevitable that it wont suit everyone, but I'll try my hardest! Thanks again for you're continuing support. John

Right people, the first week of freshers is coming to an end and I hope everyone is having a blast! Like the majority of you, I've had a mad week and next week is set to be even more mad so I'll let everyone settle into the first week of lectures and I'm hoping to hold a meeting at the end of next week to sort out the committee etc. So if you'd be interested in being on the committee then please send me a message and I'll have more details about the meeting later in the week. Gathering Momentum guys...just remember to share and get as many likes to the page as possible because the list of 'likees' can be submitted to the SU when we're proposing the society and will therefore give us a better chance of this becoming a reality :)
