Anthropology at Queen’s is a subject concerned with the study of the social and cultural diversity of humans. Anthropology at Queen’s covers virtually every aspect of human social activity, from kinship, material culture or cognition to economics, politics, conflict and religion. Ethnomusicology is also a very well established research strand with a long tradition at the QUB Anthropology. Recent r

esults show that Anthropology at Queen’s University is number 3 in the UK according to the Guardian League Table for 2018 (https://www.theguardian.com/education/ng-interactive/2017/may/16/university-guide-2018-league-table-for-anthropology). Founded in 1845 as Queen's College Belfast, the university is the second oldest in Ireland and ninth oldest in the UK; it is also a member of the Russell Group, the association of 24 UK public research universities.
