Our club runs social events throughout the year, takes part in yearly national competitions in both the UK and Ireland, and provides those who don't have a horse but have an interest in horse riding with weekly riding lessons at Farmhill Riding School & Livery. You can join at any point throughout the year and we are visible during freshers and re-freshers fairs in the Students Union. If you have

We are very excited to announce that we will be running an SJ Clinic with Luke Campbell on 22/2/25 at Drennan Hill Equestrian Centre and are now taking signups !!

Details:

Date: 22/2/25
Location: Drennan Hill Equestrian Centre, 41 Drennan Hill Road, Lisburn, BT27 6UR
Time: TBC
Price: £30 per person (Group of 3) for an hour’s lesson.

Please note that this event is only open to members and alumni with their own horses and transport for their horses. The club is unable to provide either of these for this event.

🚨🐴 2024/2025 MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE NOW 🐴🚨

Whether you’re a seasoned competitive rider, just ride for fun or have never sat on a horse before, we would love for you to join us !

QUB Equestrian Club is a welcoming, supportive and fun environment for everyone to come together and share their love for horses and Equestrian Sports.

We are the current All Ireland Intervarsity Champions and currently have two members of the club representing QUB and Ireland at Student Rider Nations Cup events around Europe as part of IURCA's Irish Student Riders Squad.

Club activities include:

▪️Weekly riding lessons held
▪️Tetrathlon (4 Phase event where competitors compete in Running, Swimming, Air Pistol Shooting and Showjumping events)
▪️Intervarsities (Teams for Showjumping, Dressage and Prix Caprilli)
▪️Beach Rides
▪️Social Evenings
▪️Club Christmas Dinner
▪️National Team try out Opportunities

We have a fresher’s offer membership price of £10 for the year which will raise to £15 after the 1/10/2024 so make sure to get in quick !!

Last week, QUB Equestrian Club held the All Ireland Intervaristies- a highly competitive event that is attended by students from Universities across Ireland.

QUB Equestrian Club celebrated a record-breaking weekend of results, taking home the Highest Scoring College across all Disciplines! Check out their amazing wins below:

Showjumping Team Competition:
🏆Winner: QUB (Katie Conlon (Sports Bursary Athlete), Katherine O Hare (Sports Bursary Athlete) & Jessica McConnell)

Showjumping Individual Competition:
🏆Winner: Katie Conlon (QUB)
🥈2nd place: Jessica McConnell (QUB)

Showjumping Highest First Round Score:
🏆 Katie Conlon: (QUB) Score- 100/100.

Dressage Team Competition:
🥈 2nd place: QUB (Rebekah McKinstry, Jessica Singleton & Erin Johnson)

Dressage Individual Competition:
🥈 2nd Place: Rebekah McKinstry (QUB)

QUB Equestrian Club commented, "Ireland is renowned for equestrian competition and the standard at this competition was extremely high. This event was supported by QUB Annual Fund and we are very grateful for all the help from Queen's, especially Queen's Students' Union's Sports Club Development Officer, Aidan McLaughlin who helped make this event a success."

🐴We at QUB Equestrian are proud to announce that we’ll be hosting this years Irish Universities Intervarsity Even in collaboration with Ulster University Equestrian in 13-14th April 2024!!

We are looking for horses who we can loan for the purposes of Show Jumping, Dressage and Prix Capprili!! If you or anyone you know has a horse or pony suitable please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]

All owners will be financially compensated and on-site stabling is available 😊🐴

We have two very exciting events on next week.

Not only do we start lessons at Farmhill Riding School and Livery Yardsign ups are open until Friday night) and our club social but we are delighted to announce that we also have our first Tetrathlon Running practise. For those of you hoping to get a chance to go to Ponyland, we have a practise run at the Dub to help prepare for next month’s Irish Universities Riding Clubs Association Tetrathlon competition. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

For those of you who prefer ponies and/or pints we have lessons on Wednesday afternoon and a a club social in the evening 🐴 🤩
