We’re pleased to launch a new suite of CPD-accredited training programmes supporting the UK Government’s priorities on domestic abuse, su***de prevention, and violence against women and girls (VAWG).
With national strategies highlighting domestic abuse as a key risk factor for su***de, and increasing focus on stalking and multi-agency responses, there has never been a greater need to equip professionals across all sectors with the right knowledge and skills.

Our new programmes are designed to do exactly that:

✅ Cultural Awareness in Domestic and Sexual Abuse
✅ Stalking Awareness for All: Recognise and Respond
✅ The Link between Domestic Abuse and Su***de

These courses support professionals across health, education, housing, social care, and community roles to recognise risk, respond safely, and improve outcomes for those most vulnerable. Building a more informed, confident, and responsive workforce-together.

How would trained professionals respond in situations like MAFS UK?

Programmes like Married at First Sight UK often highlight complex relationship dynamics, including behaviours linked to coercive control, emotional abuse, and power imbalance.

Our Level 4 Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship equips professionals to:

✅ Recognise early signs of harm and escalation
✅ Respond using trauma‑informed, survivor‑centred approaches
✅ Assess risk and make safe, proportionate decisions
✅ Distinguish conflict from abuse and act with confidence

In high‑pressure environments, where behaviours can be normalised or overlooked, trained practitioners play a critical role in protecting individuals and ensuring safe outcomes.

Our next cohort intake will be on 22nd June, 6th July, 26th August and 7th September 2026.

The apprenticeship supports progression across key safeguarding pathways, including:

– Independent Domestic Violence Advocate
– Independent Sexual Violence Advocate
– Children and Young People’s Domestic Abuse Support Worker

Sharing some wonderful moments from our Staff Wellbeing Day on Friday 15 May 2026. With the sun shining, our team made the most of the day, taking time to recharge and focus on wellbeing. Activities ranged from dog walking, cycling, running, and long walks, to more relaxing options such as spa days, time at the caravan, and gardening.

It was great to see everyone embracing the opportunity in their own way, highlighting the importance we place on wellbeing, balance, and supporting our team.

It was great to meet so many familiar faces from across the FE sector at The Apprenticeship Awards. Congratulations to all the winners in every category. We were also pleased to be joined by our valued EPA partner, Kit Salt from SFJ Awards, along with Maya Badham.

As we continue to build on our success, we are proud to now deliver the Level 4 Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship to 21 organisations. Alongside this, we have launched our commercial Protective Services training provision, strengthening both our funded and commercial offer in this specialist area and further supporting workforce development across the sector.

The outstanding achievements of our first two apprentices, Chloe Martin and Mollie Worbey, exemplify the quality of our delivery and inspired our nomination as finalists in the ‘Excellence in Training Delivery’ category.

A huge thank you to all team members who have contributed to the success of this programme, with a special mention to our wonderful IQA, Angela Atkinson, for her outstanding dedication and invaluable contribution. Her commitment to quality has been instrumental in achieving these outcomes.

Mollie Worbey and Chloe Martin are the first two apprentices from Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service to achieve their results from our inaugural cohort, which began in October 2024. We’re heading to Leeds tonight for the , where we’re proud to be shortlisted as a finalist for Excellence in Training Delivery for our Level 4 Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship.

This recognition reflects the strengths of our domestic abuse training delivery, including trauma‑informed and survivor‑centred practice, expert sector‑specialist tutors, strong learner support, and a curriculum that combines theory with real‑world application. Our approach prioritises professional confidence, learner wellbeing, and high‑quality outcomes, ensuring apprentices are equipped to make a meaningful difference in complex, high‑risk environments.

29/04/2026

Whilst we celebrate the End Point Assessment results from our first cohort of the Level 4 Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship, which commenced in October 2024, we are delighted to also launch our CPD‑accredited, non‑apprenticeship training programmes.

These new programmes broaden our offer and provide flexible, high‑impact learning opportunities for professionals who need specialist knowledge and practical skills outside of an apprenticeship route:

1) Stalking Awareness: Recognise and Respond
2) The Links Between Domestic Abuse and Su***de

Our Domestic Abuse and Suicidality Training Programme provides a trauma‑informed, progressive learning pathway for professionals who may encounter individuals experiencing domestic abuse, suicidal thoughts, or both. The programme is designed to build confidence, improve understanding, and strengthen professional responses to risk, disclosure, and safeguarding.

Stalking Awarness programmes equip professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to respond effectively to stalking, a crime that is often misunderstood and under‑identified. By combining awareness‑raising with applied learning, the pathway supports safer, earlier identification of stalking behaviour and more appropriate responses to disclosures.

Participants benefit from:
Improved recognition of stalking behaviours and patterns, including those often minimised or missed
Greater confidence in responding to disclosures sensitively and safely
Practical risk‑management strategies and understanding of protective measures
Clearer referral pathways and stronger multi‑agency working
Trauma‑informed approaches that prioritise victim safety and wellbeing
