A new generation of nursing professionals is on the rise 👩⚕️👨⚕️
Blackburn College, in partnership with Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and University of Lancashire, has officially launched the Level 5 Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship, helping to tackle skills shortages across the region.
With real-world experience at its core, apprentices will combine hands-on hospital placements with training in our state-of-the-art Immersive Health Ward, developing the skills, confidence and compassion needed to deliver high-quality patient care.
Our Immersive Health Ward gives students the chance to practise in a realistic clinical environment, complete with high-fidelity patient simulators and hands-on scenarios.
It means our Nursing Associate apprentices can build skills safely, make mistakes, learn fast, and step into hospital placements with confidence.
This first cohort of apprentices marks a major step forward in creating a skilled, sustainable healthcare workforce for Lancashire, and a clear pathway into nursing for local people.
