Every year, our academics and researchers come together with external experts in their fields to share research, exchange ideas and learn from each other 🎓

At our annual TIRIAE (Teaching Intensive, Research Informed, and Assessment Enabled) Conference, experts from across UGM and beyond will come together to share their latest research and best practice, explore new ideas and consider how this can improve our research, teaching and student experience.

It’s a chance to connect with others, challenge thinking and share practical approaches across areas including health and wellbeing, education, sport and technology.

By bringing together expertise from within and beyond UGM, the conference helps us develop our research and teaching, with the knowledge and ideas shared feeding into our students’ learning and helping them benefit from the latest thinking and developments in their fields.

The Centre of Intelligence of Things (CIoTh) at the University of Greater Manchester is delighted to celebrate Austin Orumwense, recipient of the Europe, Middle East and Africa ISC2 Rising Star Professional Award in the 2026 ISC2 Global Achievement Awards.

Austin completed his MSc Cloud and Network Security with Distinction at UGM and continues to contribute to CIoTh as a Visiting Associate Researcher, working at the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
