We are pleased to share that the second cohort of the National Aspiring Vice-Chancellor Development Programme for Black & Asian Heritage Senior Professionals has begun its in-person sessions at the University of Greater Manchester, following its launch on Thursday 22 October 2026.

We are incredibly proud of this initiative, delivered by the University of Greater Manchester in partnership with the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN). The programme aims to address the underrepresentation of Black and Asian leaders in senior UK higher education roles and develop a strong pipeline of future Vice-Chancellors.

Following the success of our first cohort, we are already seeing encouraging outcomes, including the appointment of one participant to a Pro Vice-Chancellor role. This reinforces the importance of investing in talent, creating opportunities and supporting the next generation of higher education leaders.

A huge thank you to our fantastic facilitators, speakers, coaches and serving Vice-Chancellors who will contribute to the programme over the next nine months. We look forward to welcoming and supporting our new cohort!

We will soon be opening applications for the next cohort, so watch this space if you aspire to senior leadership in higher education.
