Meet our Integrity Award winner: Sara Carter, Progress Coach.

What really comes through in this nomination is trust. Sara combines genuine care and compassion for students with high expectations. She advocates for learners when they need support, provides bespoke one-to-one help when circumstances are difficult, and continues to encourage students to take responsibility and succeed.

Much of what Sara does happens quietly and without seeking recognition. But the difference it makes can be seen in students' engagement, attendance, punctuality and ultimately their ability to remain at College and succeed.

Congratulations, Sara!

Meet our Innovation Award winner: Robyn Roberts, Course Leader in Health and Social Care.

It's clear that Robyn hasn't been afraid to come in, look at how things are done and ask, 'Could we do this differently?' Importantly, she's turned those ideas into practical improvements.

Her fresh thinking has helped transform approaches across Health and Social Care and Science. She's brought innovative thinking to wider challenges such as attendance and behaviour, with her ideas shared with colleagues through our CPD Marketplace.

For someone relatively new to the College, she's already made a real impact, a fantastic example of being bold, dynamic and prepared to try something different.

Congratulations, Robyn, thoroughly well deserved!

Meet our Integrity Award winner: Elaine Evans, Activations Manager.

What's particularly special here is that Elaine was independently nominated twice, and both nominations told a remarkably similar story. They describe someone who is fair, principled and supportive, a leader who makes time for people, listens and creates an environment where colleagues feel trusted and valued.

She's someone who supports new colleagues to find their feet, keeps her door open when people need advice and communicates openly and honestly with her team.

Kind, loyal, trustworthy and caring were just some of the words used to describe her. Two independent nominations, one very deserving winner.

Congratulations, Elaine!

Meet our Collaboration Award winners: the SEND Teaching and Care Assistant Team at Thornton College.

This nomination really captures what being one team is all about. Our winners consistently step beyond the boundaries of their own roles to support colleagues and learners across Thornton College, whether that's helping with trips, open evenings, supporting other curriculum areas, or simply stepping in at short notice when another team needs them.

Perhaps most importantly, they do it even when their own area is busy and stretched. Their willingness to help means our learners get opportunities and experiences that simply wouldn't be possible without that collaboration.

Congratulations to the whole team!

Meet our Accountability Award winner: Sandra Marston.

Sandra joined our SEND Transitions Hub from a very different professional background, having previously worked within the NHS. Moving into classroom support was a completely new challenge, but rather than being daunted, she embraced it fully.

She actively sought feedback, listened, learned and adapted her approach to meet the very different needs of the young people she supports. Her development has been described as remarkable.

For embracing a new challenge, taking ownership of her development and continually looking for ways to improve, congratulations Sandra - thoroughly well deserved!

Last Friday was all about celebrating our people. We came together at Liverpool John Moores University for the Hugh Baird College Staff Awards, recognising the achievements, dedication and hard work of colleagues from right across the College.

Every award was aligned with one of our five organisational values, a reminder of what we stand for and the people who bring it to life every day. We also shared insights into our forthcoming strategic plan.

Throughout this week, we'll be sharing the stories of our winners, so keep an eye on our page!
