The Travelling Players return with not one, but two shows in one night for you this Christmas!

Two Travelling Players are desperate to share their story with you, but which will go first? Jack and the Beanstalk or The Frog Prince?

Jack – his eyes full of wonder – finds himself the owner of precious magic beans. When they grow into a huge beanstalk, his world is changed forever.

Meanwhile, Princess Polly has a lot on her plate. To save the kingdom, she's being asked to marry; she's lost her golden ball and to cap it all, she's being hounded by a frog who wants to be her friend.

Join us for an afternoon of merriment, puppets and song as The Travelling Players bring to life these stories in their usual magical, mischievous and festive style.

Frankenstein: The Making of a Monster

🎭Presented by AUB Theatre Productions
🏛️Palace Court Theatre AUB
📅Friday 13 Nov - Saturday 14 Nov
🕒 Fri - 13.00, Sat - 14.30 and 18.30

This dynamic new production by Artistic Director of Dorset Corset Theatre, Helen Watts, provides a captivating insight into how the gothic horror classic came to be written by Mary Shelley.

The story features the real people surrounding the conception of Frankenstein: Lord Byron, Percy Shelley and Mary Shelley, who are together near Lake Geneva in 1816. The main characters from the novel also appear as the drama unfolds.

The story – the monster – and the legend live on, casting a dim light on the growing tensions between humanity and monstrosity.

It was an inspiring evening on Wednesday night at Palace Court Theatre AUB, with a networking event and performance that was all part of annual national conference.

Congratulations to the all-boy acting company Boys Can from Ferndown Upper School, for their honest and thought-provoking performance. We ❤️ hearing about how more young men can be encouraged to embrace creativity and the positive impact it can have.

Huge thank you to the technicians at Palace Court Theatre for transforming the Club Room into a vibrant bar and exhibition space. 🍾🍻

How prepared is our community for the challenges ahead?

This event brings together residents, community groups and local organisations to watch People’s Emergency Briefing – a powerful short film outlining the risks climate change poses to our health, infrastructure and daily lives.

After the screening, BCP will host an open discussion on what this means for our area and how we can work together to build a more resilient and prepared community. BCP are seeking panellists from the community to be part of this discussion. If you'd like to be a panellist, please email [email protected] to register your interest.

This film is suitable for over-16s only.
