In the Summer we invited 6th form students for a day of work experience to our Media Technology Lab broadcast studios here in Informatics . Students worked across both studios filming and cutting live cameras as well as editing together footage.

Our visitors enjoyed the day learning to use the cutting edge facilities including cloud based production and broadcast cameras.
 
Computing for Digital Media students are able to use these facilities and more as part of their degree.

is a professor of cognitive and computational neuroscience in the department of Informatics at Sussex University and Director of the Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science.

His research centres on the questions of consciousness, where it is and how it works. Bringing together Mathematicians, Physicists and people studying informatics and artificial intelligence with philosophers and neuroscientists to study how the brain generates conscious experience.

Did you know we have two video production broadcast studios in Informatics?

Computer Science students can use these studios during video production modules and broadcast their own live show.

HackSussex broadcast the the Coders Cup live from the studio and it’s used for final year projects, open days and special events.

Studying BSc Computing for Digital Media and Games and MSc Computing with Digital Media you’ll become familiar with industry-standard equipment and cloud-based production, working with , using cutting edge software created through research here in informatics.
