🎞️ A short animation produced by researchers at shares findings from a study that explored how multi-agency working could better support the educational progress of Children With a Social Worker.

📑Commissioned by Essex Virtual School to inform their strategic response to a new national policy agenda, the final report was jointly submitted in May 2023 by the Centre for Teaching and Learning Research (CTLR) and Centre for Innovation and Research in Childhood and Youth (CIRCY) at the University of Sussex. The report informed a range of approaches subsequently adopted by Essex Virtual School, and researchers from the team are still working with them to understand the impacts associated with the introduction of these initiatives.

🤔 💡 Our CPD module 'Risk and Decision-Making: Challenges for children's services management and practice' covers the theory and the evidence base around risk and decision-making in children’s services in contemporary legal, policy and practice contexts. With a focus on integrating learning with critical reflection and developing risk management practices, you will also tackle role-specific challenges.

🎧 You will learn through online lectures, workshops and smaller practice development discussion groups, supplemented by virtual learning resources.

📅 This 30 Masters credit level module is delivered over 7 remotely delivered sessions between Oct 2026 and March 2027.
