Opening the doors to a new chapter in our history 👐

The Sloane Robinson Building at our new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus has now officially opened!

What began as an ambitious vision has become an inspirational place where students, researchers, businesses and communities come together to learn, discover and collaborate, creating lasting impact for Bristol, the region and beyond.

Across 38,000 square metres, world-class teaching and research will focus on fields that are transforming our economy and society, from artificial intelligence and digital engineering to cyber security, advanced telecommunications, quantum technologies and innovation.

Huge thanks to our many partners who have shared our ambition from the outset and worked collaboratively to make this significant day a reality.

Today’s the day! 🎉

After a decade in the making, the Sloane Robinson Building at our new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus will officially open its doors.

A major milestone in our 150-year history, the campus is a new gateway to Bristol, bringing students, researchers, businesses and communities together to shape the future.

The opening also marks a major step forward for the city, alongside a new £23m eastern entrance at Bristol Temple Meads and a new harbour walkway, connecting the campus with the emerging Bristol Temple Quarter district.

We’re excited to celebrate this moment with partners from across the University, city and region. Follow our stories throughout the day as we mark this important moment ✨

Happy 50th birthday, Aardman! 🎉

For half a century, Aardman Animations has brought creativity, humour and imagination to audiences around the world.

The University of Bristol has enjoyed a longstanding connection with the studio, from awarding co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton, as well as famous animator Nick Park, honorary degrees, to collaborating on the colourful Denticles characters that welcome visitors to Bristol Dental School, and, of course, celebrating the much-loved characters that have appeared across campus through Bristol's famous character trails.

Cheers to 50 years of these Bristol legends 🐑🐶

It’s official – we’re the 6th best university in the UK 🎉

The rise from 8th place in last year’s Daily Mail University Guide reflects the strength of our teaching, research and student experience, with Bristol ranked:

🏆 1st for research income
🎓 2nd for first-year completion rates
🔬 4th for research quality
🏅 9th for sport

Many of our subjects scored highly too, with Business and Italian both ranked 1st in the country.

The Guide highlighted our financial support, strong graduate outcomes, popularity among applicants, and exciting future with the opening of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus next month.

As thousands of students receive their results yesterday, we'd like to congratulate everyone who’s secured a place at Bristol. We can't wait to welcome you to our city and community next month!
