We are incredibly humbled to have been nominated, let alone to have won. This award is a testament to the amazing team of staff, volunteers and supporters who make everything we do possible.

Without all of you, Prickles & Paws simply wouldn’t exist — and we certainly wouldn’t be able to make the difference we do for the hedgehogs of Cornwall 💚🦔🐾

We're Looking for Our Next Reception Superstar!

Do you love people, thrive in a busy environment, and enjoy being part of a supportive team?

We're looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our award-winning independent small animal practice in the beautiful cathedral city of Truro.
As the first face and voice of our practice, you'll play a vital role in creating a warm welcome for clients and their pets while helping our reception team keep things running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same! Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming clients and their pets
Answering telephone calls and booking appointments
Responding to enquiries by phone, email and in person
Registering new clients
Taking payments accurately and efficiently
Supporting the day-to-day running of a busy reception area

Who We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who is:
Experienced in a receptionist role
A confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
Compassionate and empathetic, especially during emotional situations
Calm under pressure and resilient in a busy environment
A positive team player who enjoys supporting colleagues
Veterinary reception experience is a bonus, but not essential.

Working Pattern
This role offers a varied shift pattern between 8am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday, plus participation in a shared Saturday rota.
Typical rota:
Monday: 8:00am to 4:30pm or 10:00am to 6:30pm (alternating weekly)
Tuesday: 10:00am to 6:30pm
Wednesday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Thursday: Day Off
Friday: 8:00am to 5:30pm (2 out of 4 weeks) or Day Off
Saturday: 8:00am to 2:00pm (1 in 4 )
Additional hours will be required to help cover holidays and sickness, and a degree of flexibility.

£12.71 - £13.64 per hour, depending on experience
20 days holiday per year (pro rata)

💜Are you an RVN who can a rock purple scrub top?💜

Wave vets in Wadebridge are very sadly saying goodbye to our beloved purple scrub topped RVN so we are looking for someone new to join the team.

We are looking for a great all rounder RVN who can put patient care at the forefront, can assist the vets with all the toys (eg multi-parameter, Doppler BP, ECG, Dental Xray, Endoscope, etc) and take excellent care of the clients as well as their pets.

We are asking for you to join us for
41 hrs a week, consisting of:
💜 4 x 10 hr days.
💜1 in 4 Saturday mornings
💜Occasional inpatient night duties.

You’ll be joining a team so good that our summer locum Christy basically wrote us a love letter:

“Thanks so much for having me these last 2 months. The team were lovely to work with and the experience as a whole was incredibly refreshing. If I go back into permanent GP work then I now know what I'm looking for. You really have a great thing going!”
