Snippets from the Global Experience in Creative Arts and Industries module trip to Berlin, captured by student content creator, Ruby. 🇩🇪

As part of the trip, students across a range of courses developed and presented their collaborative creative projects to international partners at the University of Europe. (And of course, there was still time left to explore the city, its food, and the sights!).

Throwback to last month’s TCS London Marathon where a team of our Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation students supported four charities to offer post-race recovery treatments to competitors.

By the end of the day the team had completed over 300 treatments on marathon runners and gained valuable practical experience of working at one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

Well done to everyone involved - we're so proud!

Mental health nursing student Nikki, has worked in mental health settings since the age of 21, marking her long-standing commitment to a field that she describes as at times challenging, but incredibly rewarding.

In 2024, Nikki began studying for an MSc in Nursing (Mental Health) at the university, crediting the course for strengthening her clinical skills and her understanding of evidence-based practice, all while making lifelong friends along the way.

Recently, she was named a finalist in the Student Nursing Times Awards for Student Nurse of the Year: Mental Health, describing the achievement as an honour, and sharing: “it reminded me of the importance of perseverance and resilience, despite the demands of the profession”.

To all aspiring nurses on International Nurses Day, Nikki’s biggest advice is “to be the kind of nurse you would want your own loved ones to be cared for by and you’ll cherish every moment you made a difference to someone’s life”. 💙

Huge congrats to our Final Year Engineering students for completing their group dissertation projects and presenting their work at the Engineering showcase! 🎉

Students presented their solution-based designs to industry professionals. The prototypes included an ingestible MicroBot, an artificial organ transplantation box, 3D printed wearables and self-propelled lifebuoys. 🤖

Maxwell, winner of Best Individual and Group project shared:

“It was a great moment to win both awards, especially alongside such a strong group. Experiences like this show how much you can achieve when you combine creativity, technical skills, and the support of a great university environment.”

Throwback to last month’s School of Business, Law and Policing trip to the central hub of European politics...Brussels! 🇧🇪⬅️

Students visited various key institutions across the capital, including the UK Mission to the EU, NATO Headquarters, and the European Parliament.

Current MSc student, Dan, shares their highlight:

“My favourite part of the trip was absolutely NATO. It was one of those moments where we felt like anything was possible, I mean we ran into Mark Rutte in Starbucks! Who can say they've done that? Everyone we spoke to was so generous with their time, and willing to engage, answer questions and share their thoughts. It's fascinating to hear people's journeys to the position they're in, as it offers a lot of perspective as to what my own journey might look like!”
