EXAMINING DANCES (year 1)
Semester 2 brought Cunningham’s ideas from page to practice, as our first year Dance students explored an embodied understanding of his work through performance and creative investigation.
Building on the theoretical foundations established in Semester One, students engaged with Cunningham’s distinctive movement language, chance procedures, spatial awareness, and relationship to music — developing both technical precision and artistic curiosity along the way. This study showcases their commitment to experimentation, performance presence, and contemporary dance practice.
