What a note to end on before the summer.

Congratulations to Simon Nobbs, Jay Green, and Ray Morrison, who were passed to the Second Degree together at St Werburga Lodge No. 4147 this evening - three Brothers, one journey, a moment none of them will forget.

There is something special about progressing through Freemasonry alongside others. The shared experience deepens the meaning, and these three have that in abundance. Fantastic men, on a fantastic path together.

St Werburga continues to show what a lodge in great shape looks like. Enjoy the summer, you’ve earned it. ☀️🤝

A Night of Celebration at St Werburga Lodge 4147

A huge congratulations to Bro. Ranjeev Sidhu, who was made a Master Mason at St Werburga Lodge 4147. A fantastic ceremony and a proud milestone in Ranjeev’s Masonic journey - we look forward to seeing him continue to flourish in the Craft.

The evening was made even more special as the Lodge presented a donation of £400 to Derby Kids’ Camp - an entirely volunteer-run charity providing free holidays for over 300 of Derbyshire’s most deserving children each year.

These children face significant challenges in their daily lives, from poverty and bereavement to social difficulties and the responsibilities of being a young carer. Derby Kids’ Camp gives them something truly special: a week to try new activities, explore new surroundings, make friends, and simply enjoy being children.

The £400 donation was made possible by £200 raised through the Lodge’s festive board raffle, generously match funded by the Provincial Grand Charity.

A wonderful evening celebrating personal progress and community support - Freemasonry in action. 💙🤝

✨ A Remarkable Bonus December Meeting at St Werburga Lodge 4147 ✨

St Werburga Lodge No. 4147 enjoyed a truly special bonus December meeting, marked by a triple Initiation; a rare and memorable occasion for the Lodge and for Derbyshire Freemasonry.

We were delighted to welcome three new members into the Craft:
🔹 Bro. Ray Morrison
🔹 Bro. Jay Green
🔹 Bro. Simon Nobbs - familiar to many as a recent guest on the Derbyshire Freemasons’ Podcast

The ceremony was delivered with care, warmth, and precision, ensuring a meaningful start to each Brother’s Masonic journey.

A special commendation is extended to our surprise Junior Deacon for the night, Steven Varley, Assistant Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, whose presence added greatly to the occasion.

Congratulations to our three new Brothers, and sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to such a memorable evening.

🎄✨ A Wonderful Community Christmas at St Werburga Lodge 4147 ✨🎄

The Social Committee, supported by Lodge families, were delighted to once again host our annual community Christmas event at Littleover Social Club; bringing together Masonic families and the wider community for a truly festive celebration.

Held free of charge for all children and families attending, the event featured:
🎅 Santa delivering presents to every child
🧝‍♀️ Fantastic children’s entertainment and crafts led by our amazing elves
🍽️ A generous buffet provided free of charge for children and adults
❄️ The ever-popular Snowball Game, which once again stole the show!

Thanks to the generosity of those who donated prizes, the raffle raised £305, and all leftover food and presents were donated to the YMCA, who were extremely grateful for the support.

Events like this, held right in the heart of the community, showcase the values of Freemasonry; and marks the eleventh year of running our special celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our day such a success, and to all the families who attended and supported the event. 💙🤝

A special night for the St Werburga Lodge!

The Lodge performed its first ceremony of the new year; an ambitious and beautifully delivered Third Degree to raise Jack Howie-Clarke to the sublime degree of a Master Mason.

For a brand-new team to open their year with such a strong and confident working bodes incredibly well for the months ahead. The standard of ritual, teamwork, and warmth in the room made it a truly memorable evening.

A heartfelt highlight was welcoming Jack’s uncle, visiting from Peace and Unity Lodge in Lancashire, who has supported Jack’s Masonic journey at every step. His pride and presence added something truly special to the night.

A wonderful ceremony, a fantastic atmosphere, and a brilliant start to the year for St Werburga Lodge. Congratulations, Jack!
