Important update for our Broomfield Hall Open Morning – Saturday 6 June

Due to equine health circumstances, there will be no equestrian centre tours taking place this Saturday.

Presentations will still be going ahead as planned, and the Equestrian Centre Manager will be available on the day to answer any questions and to book tours for next month.

We’d like to reassure visitors that this is a precautionary measure following veterinary advice. The situation does not pose any risk to people, and is a single isolated case.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you on Saturday.

Second year Science T Level students celebrated their graduation with fun and games, including drawing challenges and a race to see who can blow up their balloon the fastest 🧪✏🎈

Once students had received their awards they then enjoyed some delicious food and were given an emotional farewell from their teachers.

It's been an honour to have you with us and we can't wait to see where your journey takes you next!

We've a double header of open days that cover ALL our curriculum areas across all our colleges.

On Thursday we welcome everybody to The Roundhouse, where all areas from The Roundhouse, The Joseph Wright Centre and Ilkeston Community College come together for one big event! 👇

Then on Saturday, Broomfield Hall swings its doors open and will be giving guided tours and talks!

Two fantastic opportunities for school leavers who haven't quite made their minds up, Year 10 students who are starting to think about their next steps, or adults who want to get back into education, upskill or pursue a new career.

Unfortunately, our Animal Unit Open Day this Sunday has been cancelled.

We know many of you were looking forward to it, so we’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

From Business T Level to full‑time job and degree apprenticeship 👏

While studying at Derby College Group, Grace gained work experience at Vaillant — which led to a permanent role and a degree apprenticeship.

Now 20, Grace is a Junior Project Manager at the Belper‑based heating systems business and is nearing the end of year one of her Level 6 Chartered Manager degree.

She’s also the youngest person on her degree apprenticeship at Stoke University.

Grace completed the Management & Administration T Level, part of the first cohort, which included a placement at Vaillant.

Thanks to the T Level route, her degree apprenticeship is fully funded, with 20% of her working week dedicated to study — and she was offered her job before receiving her results.

Vaillant and DCG now have a strategic partnership to develop skills needed for decarbonisation, including investment in 10 full‑time low‑carbon heating technician apprentices, supporting the UK’s target of 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028.
