🎉 Huge congratulations to our amazing Higher Education students for their success at the HE Inter-college challenge at Dearne Valley College! 🏆👏

With students from 10 colleges and universities across the country, our team shone brightly with their research and dissertations. 🌟 They even got a tour of the fantastic facilities! 🏫

🎉 We’re absolutely buzzing after today’s Landbased Higher Education Insights event! 🎉 In its second year, we went BIGGER and BETTER, offering Level 3 Animal care and Equine students a chance to explore university options, attend a careers fair, and learn about applying for university and writing personal statements. 📚✨

Plus, our Higher Education lecturers showcased the fantastic opportunities available right here at Broomfield Hall for students to continue their studies at a university level. 🏫🎓

Our university-level HE students weren’t left out either! They enjoyed an inspiring talk from the MSc in Conservation Biology programme lead at the University of Derby, boosting their aspirations for the future. 🌍🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and to all the universities and institutions that joined us. We hope our students are inspired to dream big and plan their next educational steps! 🚀💪

🐾 Learning beyond the classroom! 🐾
Our Level 3 Access to Higher Education students recently enjoyed an educational visit to Peak Wildlife Park, spending the day exploring the park and learning from expert keeper talks.
As part of Accommodation Task 1, students evaluated enclosures for a reptile, amphibian and primate—with the park’s lemurs providing a fantastic real world example for their primate assessment. The keeper talks really brought the learning to life and enhanced the overall experience.

Tomorrow is our Animal Unit open day and we hope to see you there.
Along with the animals to see, there are scavenger hunts for the kids, craft making, enrichment building, plant your own wildflower seed bomb and food/drink and charity stalls.

You will also be able to wonder our beautiful gardens and the plant centre is open too for buying plants 🪴
