Its National Science and Engineering week (March 9th-18th) so Dumfries College are demonstrating how to to save money by converting to low energy light bulbs. Engineering students have made a bike powered generator and will try and power up the lighting rig with pedal power. The challenge is to see how much power is used run a traditional light bulb and then see the difference running the new low energy bulb.

Engineering students on the NC Fab & Weld course are making a water turbine for the tide Machine Project in Dumfries. This is the first prototype and was tested using 100Bar of air pressure.
