Who gets to tell the story and what gets remembered? 🤔

This September, Generator Projects hosts "Everything for Everybody" - a new exhibition of contemporary artists from the UK and Ukraine alongside photographic archives from the University of St Andrews and Ukraine's Pokrovsk Historical Museum. 📸

Originally presented at the Dnipro Center for Contemporary Culture as part of the Kyiv Biennial, the exhibition unites contemporary artworks with the social documentary photographic archives of Mykola Bilokon (Ukraine) and Franki Raffles (Scotland) to ask: whose stories are we archiving now, and for whom?

We've got a good (gut) feeling about this! 🧬

This September, we've got not one, not two, but SEVENTEEN phenomenal early-career artists coming together in a new exhibition, "Gut Feeling - Exploring Health and the Unseen". 🫀

From photography and video to sculpture and painting, the variety of work is incredible, all underpinned by how art can be used to shine a spotlight on the inner workings of our bodies (and what happens when things go awry...).🩺

Come and see how creativity makes visible conditions such as arthritis, endometriosis, erythema and hypoglycaemia that many of us live with, but often downplay or keep hidden. 🩹

Masters Show has closed it's doors, but what better way to cheer yourself up than having a look at what another DJCAD graduate has been up to?! ✨️

We’re delighted to see one of our alumni returning to Dundee for a major exhibition at Dundee Contemporary Arts, "France-Lise McGurn: The Charm Offensive".

France-Lise studied in Dundee in 2005, before going on to build an internationally recognised career spanning painting, drawing, installations and more.🖌️

In this new exhibition - her most significant UK show to date - McGurn takes over both DCA galleries, with her site-specific paintings that spill beyond the canvas to cover the gallery walls and a range of objects and materials that she has lived with or has a connection to.🚗🪑🛋️

The exhibition is complemented by a range of events, including a series of Artist's Choice Screenings, films selected by McGurn to expand on and complement the exhibition. 🎞️

From a range of years and courses, our constantly changing ambassador team offers a personal insight into life at DJCAD, and are a fantastic representation of our welcoming student community.👏

From providing a warm welcome to all our visitors (and helping locate that elusive studio!) to sharing their unique, personal perspectives on DJCAD and the work on display, it's been fantastic working with you all. 🫶

🎉And we're done! 🎉

On behalf of the graduating Masters class of 2026, thank you to everyone who visited this year's Masters Show and helped draw this summer to a close in the most incredible way!

Over the last nine days, we welcomed over 2,000 people to DJCAD - a fantastic achievement, and once again, testament to the calibre of our brilliant graduates!🤩

A huge thanks to each and every student whose wonderful work made the show what it was, and to the staff, volunteers, supporters and - of course - visitors who made it happen! 👏

With less than 48 hours left to catch Masters Show 2026, we're taking a moment to celebrate five exhibiting students who have just completed a ten-week internship with V&A Dundee!😍

Studying either MSc Design for Business or MSc Product Design, Claire McHardy, Joe Goldwin, Oulimata Sané, Siddharth Bhagchandani and Rachel Middleton worked alongside the museum team to research, explore, test and develop new ways to engage audiences, support accessibility and develop the galleries.⚙️

Many of their ideas will go directly into sharing the exciting next stages of V&A Dundee's development, while the design skills they gained will no doubt carry them far in their future careers. 💪

As Oulimata said, “Doing my master's placement in an organisation as supportive as V&A Dundee gave me the boost in confidence I needed to step back into the professional world". 🫶

DJCAD and the wider university is delighted to support this project, generously funded by Tim Allan. It continues to have hugely positive outcomes for our graduates and strengthen ties between Scotland's design museum and the University of Dundee, one if it's founding partners.

Congratulations to everyone involved from both University of Dundee and V&A Dundee who have supported Claire, Joe, Oulimata, Siddharth and Rachel throughout their internship - they are definitely ones to watch! 👏

Friday's always a time to celebrate, and last Friday was no exception...

During the preview of Masters Show, we held our postgraduate prizegiving, with 21 awards up for grabs! Some prizes were awarded to multiple students (and some students won multiple prizes!)🏅

Congratulations to everyone, prize winner or not - your work is incredible!👏

A huge thank you to the many staff and external stakeholders involved in selecting and supporting these awards.🏆️

And if you've not seen our students' work yet, there's only TWO days left to take in the best new art and design talent around and give our incredible Masters students the send off they deserve! ✨️
