Coming out of our Enterprising Minds work last year, we have a new enterprise project called TestTown launching on 28 February. It's a competition for 16-25 year olds inviting business ideas for an empty shop unit or vacant space in a town centre and excitingly, the top 10 entries get to try out their idea for real over a long weekend this summer. The final prize for the winning team is £10k! If you're interested, please like the page Test Town and follow us on Twitter . Please spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested! We'll have posters and other publicity material soon so just give us a shout if you can use some!

We've just emailed round a bulletin to all Interns and colleges on the state of the Enterprising Minds survey. More than 32% of responses now inputted, with a fortnight to go. If you didn't get the update, you can email [email protected] and it will be sent to you straight away.

Jim again. Everyone is clearly hard at work and the survey responses are starting to pile up.

This is just a quick message of congratulations to our colleagues at DEESIDE COLLEGE in North Wales. As of this morning, they have completed and inputted their full quota of surveys. Absolutely brilliant - thanks for all your work!!!

Jim here. Just a quick update on a technical thing for student at South Eastern and Glasgow.

In creating intern codes on SurveyMonkey for the team at City of Glasgow College, a minor thing has happened as the system has confused CoG's '011-014' codes with SERC's '101-104' codes.

This only occurs on the 'data analysis' presentation page - the data you guys at SERC are entering is still clearly yours, and accredited to you in the main spreadsheet.

So don't worry! What we'll be doing from next week is that every Friday I will produce and email round a grid showing the number of inputted surveys by each intern and college.

Each time an intern hits their quota, we will be getting in touch to say congratulations and organise their thank you payment!

Jim here. I hope everyone got the email bulletin I sent out on Friday. If not, maybe you could email me at jim@carnegieu...

Jim here. I hope everyone got the email bulletin I sent out on Friday. If not, maybe you could email me at [email protected] and I'll add you to the distribution list. The attached photo is all the prizes, arrived and safely stored at Andrew Carnegie House waiting for the winners to be drawn! Hope this helps if anyone is asking you 'do these iPrizes really exist?'

Thanks Jessica, and good to hear from you (Jim here). Pleased to hear that you're finding a way to make it work - and obviously with staff support! Keep us posted.

Thanks to all colleges and interns who have started Enterprising Minds field research. More than half the colleges have inputted some returns now - great stuff! We're on our way to our quotas already, with a month to go.

Lets keep the feedback coming on how you're organising your work too. Are you researching as a team or in pairs? Are you doing the surveys in the foyer, the cafe, or a special room? Are you doing a couple a day, or planning a big research event? The more we know, the more we learn!

And a lucky 13th college (Inverness) joined the network this week. Emily at Create Inverness will be our 57th (yes, 57th) Intern.
