At Durham, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. That’s why we offer a range of international opportunities, designed to immerse you in new cultures, gain global perspectives, and develop the skills, confidence and adaptability today’s employers value.

Here’s what’s available:

🌐 Summer School Abroad: study at a prestigious European partner university in a subject that broadens your perspective and strengthens your CV.

✍️ Dissertation Abroad: take your research further and complete your dissertation at a European partner institution.

✈️ International Study Tour: an immersive European business experience available on our MSc Management and MSc Finance programmes.

Recent Master's graduate Isobel Schofield, comments on her Summer School in Denmark studying value creation in financial statements, where she gained fresh international insight and a new perspective on careers in the industry:

"I took a Summer School in Denmark, at Aarhus University. It was a really good opportunity to get some international experience, to study something relevant to my course, but a little bit different to give me a broader view of careers in the industry.”

These experiences don’t just enrich your time at Durham, they help you stand out in a competitive global job market.

“I was awarded the DUBS Masters Achievement Scholarship. As a student who worked in Switzerland prior to my studies and is financing my tuition independently, this scholarship provided crucial financial support. It made it realistically possible for me to pursue a Master’s degree abroad and experience a different academic system compared to Switzerland. Beyond the financial aspect, the scholarship also represented a strong vote of confidence and allowed me to focus fully on my studies and opportunities at Durham.”

Janis Noah Cattaruzz, MSc Management (consulting) student
