At South Lanarkshire College we are delighted to be working in partnership on this fantastic initiative, supporting parents to develop their English language skills, grow in confidence and build lasting connections within the community.

It’s wonderful to see the impact these classes are having both inside and outside the classroom. A huge well done to our lecturer Eva, and to everyone involved in the programme! 👏💙

More than just learning English!

Every Monday and Wednesday, a wonderful group of parents come together at the CTEC Building in Cambuslang for ESOL classes. This is delivered in partnership with South Lanarkshire College.

The group is not only helping parents to improve their English language skills and build confidence, but it has also become a place where friendships are formed, connections are made and everyone feels supported.

The friendships have grown so much that members of the group often meet up outside of the classes, bringing their children along and spending time together as a wider friendship group.

One parent said:

“Eva, who runs the group, is very patient, caring and supportive. She makes everyone feel welcome and encourages us to learn and build our confidence.”

This industry‑recognised programme is designed for individuals who want to start a career as a Gas Engineer or build on existing mechanical or engineering experience.

South Lanarkshire College are hosting two drop-in MenB vaccine clinics for eligible students on 7th and 9th September (two doses of the vaccine is required).

One dose isn’t enough to provide protection. Your second dose must be given at least 28 days after the first dose and then protection develops about two weeks after the second dose.

South Lanarkshire College are hosting two drop-in MenB vaccine clinics for eligible students on 7th and 9th September (two doses of the vaccine is required).

Following recent outbreaks of meningitis in the UK, the MenB vaccine is being offered to some older teenagers and students under 25 who are at higher risk of exposure to meningococcal group B bacteria.

you’re likely to be eligible for the MenB vaccine ✅

MenB can spread through close contact with someone who
has the bacteria in the back of their throat. This includes living
in the same household, kissing, or sharing drinks or vapes.
