As Women’s History Month comes to an end we’d like to highlight some amazing female geographers from across the globe. Geography is inherently built on systems of power, and by amplifying their voices, we’re actively supporting a more equal, and better geography for the future

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some key moments in history and shine a light on influential women in Edinburgh.

From women who challenged barriers in education and medicine to those who pushed for political change, their impact is still felt today. Their stories show how change happens—through persistence, courage, and collective effort. 💚

This year we will be having a charity raffle at the ball!

We’ve been so lucky to be given some amazing prizes by some incredible buisness in Edinburgh!

We want to say a special thank you to for their generosity to both us and their donation towards our selected charities for this year.

Purchase a raffle ticket at the ball to be in with a chance of winning these incredible prizes!

Proceeds will go towards our two charities 💚

The Geography Society is proud to support their President Ben, Secretary Ellis, and these other candidates in the 2026 Student Elections. These candidates have been chosen by our committee as they best represent the values important to us, specifically campaigning for Divestment; deepening Widening Participation; and fighting the Budget Cuts; while also promoting Safety, Sustainability and Transparency within the University.
