Scottish History, University of Edinburgh Welcome to Scottish History at Edinburgh, home for teaching and research into Scottish history from early medieval times to the present day.

Scottish History is part of the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. Scottish History has been taught here ever since the prestigious Fraser Chair of Scottish History was established in 1902. The current Professor is Ewen Cameron. The subject area has five core members of staff, plus a number of postdoctoral fellows and associated staff. Their expertise range

s very widely: from the early medieval period to the present day; from saints to witches; from the Highlands to Scotland’s overseas connections; and from the Picts to the founding of the new Scottish Parliament.
