In March 2026, the Scottish Government published "Scottish Guidelines and Guardrails for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Schools." This guidance was produced following close collaboration with the EIS and input from other partners.

The guidance consists of 5 key principles or "Guardrails" underpinning responsible use of AI in education.

The City of Glasgow College Riverside Welders have begun a series of MSP lobbying visits to highlight their dispute with management who are failing to supply the correct PPE to keep them safe from breathing carcinogenic fumes.

The six striking welders have been in dispute since November and have been taking strike action for 17 weeks. They have begun a series of visits to MSP's whose constituencies they live in. They visited Claire Haughey SNP MSP for Rutherglen and Cambuslang and Patrick Harvie, Greens MSP for the Glasgow Area within which the College is situated.

They left information regarding the dispute and a press release detailing the letter that was sent to the First Minister by the EIS General Secretary last week, and they posed for pictures with placards highlighting their concerns over health and safety.
