The HW chemists reached new heights at climbing today getting the adrenaline pumping for exam season. The way we see it is, if you can handle a climbing wall, you can handle physical chemistry 😉

Hello Chemists!

With the volunteer awards coming up, we felt we’d like to throw our hat in the ring for “Best Society”.

We have tried super hard this year to build a community within chemistry at heriot watt this year, bringing social events, career events and promoting services within the uni we thought would be useful to you.

We’re not going to bore you with a big statement on why you should vote for us. But we hope our work this year has made you feel we’re worth it!

Much love,

ChemSoc ❤️

In an exciting and unusual twist Heriot-Watt's Undergraduate Chemistry Society is excited to present their afternoon conference "Navigating Towards a More Sustainable Future - A Celebration of 50 Years of Chemistry at Heriot-Watt Riccarton".
Join us as we listen and learn from both long and medium term serving academic staff, alumni, and an extra special guest speaker from the University of Nottingham.
Light refreshements will be provided during our extended break. This will give you the chance to network with peers and visit our RSC table; this will feature magazines, pencils and lanyards provided by our biggest supporter the Royal Society of Chemistry.
By attending this event you will have the chance to enter into our free prize draw to win 1 of 3 items from our partner Chilly’s! (Be sure to stay right to the end to keep your chance of winning a prize!)
Speakers in Order of Talk:
Professor Martin McCoustra (HWU), Dr Joe Arciero, Dr Stephen Mansell (HWU), Professor Steven M. Howdle (UoN).
We cannot wait to see you all there.
Any questions please contact Abigayle Boyce (VP. HWU Chemistry Society) [email protected], Naima M Franco (President HWU Chemistry Society) [email protected].

With exam results due tomorrow 10/02/23. We thought we’d remind you that you’re not in this alone.

Uni is important to us and we all want to succeed. But nothing is more important than your happiness and safety.

If exam result stress is too much, or you fail some classes and don’t know what to do. Help is there, you just need to reach out. Below are some links provided by the university to support you. If you don’t know who you need to speak to ChemSoc will try to support you to find the right resources.

Remember to look out for your friends, and don’t be afraid to reach out to fellow students.

It’s not always easy but ChemSoc is proud of you no matter what the results page says. You made it this far. You are amazing!
