We were delighted to host Professor Kasey McCall-Smith's Inaugural Lecture, The Art and Alchemy of Human Rights Interpretation, in the Playfair Library.

Professor McCall-Smith holds the Chair of International Law and Human Rights and is the Programme Director for the LLM in Human Rights. Her research explores how human rights treaties are interpreted and incorporated into national law.

On the 16 June we held our annual Research and Impact Celebration. This year's event explored how teaching informed, supported and transformed research through insightful panel discussions.

Our second year PhD students each presented either a poster or a three minute thesis challenging them to present their research in a concise and accessible way.

The event provided the opportunity to share ideas, celebrate achievements and highlight the vibrant research culture across the School.

We were delighted to host the 12th European Network for Clinical Education and the 23rd International Journal of Clinical Legal Education Conference from 15-16 June.

Over the two days we welcomed more than 240 participants from across the world to exchange ideas, knowledge and best practice.

The Third World Ocean Assessment (WOA III) is the UN's only global integrated assessment of the world's oceans, bringing together more than 650 interdisciplinary experts from across the globe.

The 18th Legal Theory Festival brought together scholars, researchers and students for three days of lively discussion and debate.
