The Department is committed to widening participation of undergraduate students. Only 9% of roles in the engineering industry are filled by women. Dr Matthew Bryan's talk on 'Memories are Made of This' at the annual British Science Week event is out now on the Engineering Society YouTube channel!
This talk focuses on Matt's research area of the history and future vision of storage technologies, including introduction on the physics behind magnetic storage devices.

Prizes galore, this time last week we celebrated our 2025 cohort graduating and collected well deserved Prizes. AJ Jenkins, JJ Littleton were awarded Shilling Shields for their contribution to the life of the department. Luxmi Sharma a commendation for all her support on events, Zaib Chaudhri for the prestigious IET award. Finally Adam Pavie who had the highest BEng final year average and the best Individual Project.
