Thank you to everyone who showed up to Dr. Jonathan Davies’ incredible Phil on tap.

A special thank you to Grand Regent Thragg for taking the time from his duties as the absolute ruler of Viltrum to come learn about Metaphysics.

I hope 20th century analytic philosophy helped prove the use of humanity to Viltrum. Or not.

Announcing the next Phil On Tap, taking place tomorrow! Apologies for a late announcement.

“In the tradition of philosophical speculation with only the sketchiest grasp of the relevant science, I will present some poorly thought through ideas about properties. Namely that all properties that pertain to natural objects are temporal - that is, only characterisable by thinking of them over time. I will start with the easy cases (e.g. the property of being fast, being a cat …), then attempt some trickier cases (being a mountain, possessing mass). I will suggest that some famous metaphysical puzzles arise from trying to treat properties as possessed by object instantaneously“

THURSDAY 15TH OCT 18:30 // WHITE HART INN

As university job cuts reshape the future of higher education, what becomes of education itself? Is knowledge a commodity to be bought and sold, or something far more fundamental to our society?

Join us for a talk with guest speaker Dr Edward Skidelsky as we explore the meaning, purpose and future of university education in the UK.
