Exeter College is a large, thriving and growing tertiary college which places teaching, learning and student success as our top priority. We enjoy an excellent regional reputation. The College was judged as outstanding by Ofsted in a pilot "no notice" inspection in 2012, and again in a full inspection in 2014 and 2023. We

were awarded the Times Educational Supplement 'Outstanding Provider of the Year in 2012 and BTEC College of the Year in 2014. We have high expectations of our students and staff and each year their combined efforts result in excellent exam grades, outstanding training successes and brilliant music, art, sports and community achievements. We welcome students of all ages and abilities and our tutorial and learner support programmes are designed to meet their needs, challenging them to reach their full potential. Exeter College provides tertiary education for around 10,000 โ€“ 12,000 students. The College was established in 1970 as the first tertiary college in the UK, bringing together the former grammar schools' sixth forms and Exeter Technical College.

On 18th May, Ash represented Exeter College at the South West College Brickwork Competition at Yeovil College, competing against 25 full-time bricklaying learners.

Ash produced an outstanding brickwork model, demonstrating impressive skills - and following judging by industry specialists and employers, Ash achieved 1st place overall! ๐Ÿฅ‡ ๐ŸŽ‰

Looking back to last week when we officially opened our new Centre for Law and Social Sciences!

This amazing new teaching and learning space has transformed our Hele Road site and is packed full of brilliant features, including:

- Bespoke stained glass window by local artist, Amy McCarthy
- Eight Testament Sculptures by Devon artist, Kenneth Carter
- A purpose-built moot room to simulate a live courtroom
- 25 new classrooms
- New dedicated breakout and study spaces

What a lovely moment for Exeter College A Level student Lucy! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Selected as one of four to represent Girlguiding, Lucy had the pleasure of attending a Charity Reception at Buckingham Palace, marking 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II.

Our A Level and International Baccalaureate Biology students have been getting hands-on experience with PCR workshops over the last three weeks!

They've gained valuable skills in micro-pipetting and gel electrophoresis, techniques normally first experienced in university laboratories. All the equipment has been loaned to us by as part of the Amgen Biotech Experience.
