Scars are a problem when they are painful and/or restrict movement.
At that point a manual therapist needs to approach treatment efficiently, safely and with the correct explanations behind it.
Manual therapy or massage (or any other hands on approach) can be really helpful to help with scar problems.
What can our hands on approach do?
It certainly DOESN’T help a scar by breaking it down, DOESN’T help the fibres to realign
But we don’t need these things for helping with problematic scars.
Join Anna Maria for our Scar Workshop next month where you will learn;
• Scar assessment techniques
• Massage and myofascial approaches
• Cupping for scar restriction and sensitivity
• Silicone sheeting applications
• Rigid and kinesiology taping
• Guidance on when different interventions are appropriate throughout the healing process
You'll work directly with real scars in a supported learning environment, helping you develop clinical reasoning, challenge common misconceptions, and build confidence in your treatment decisions.
