Eco Anthems & Green Beats – What a Day!

Our C*C Connections project funded by Cornwall Community Foundation through the Headland project culminated in a wonderful celebration of music and environmental action at St Michael's Church, Newquay where pupils from our participant schools came together to perform the songs they had been preparing — including their chosen eco‑themed pieces as well as joint songs ‘Hey Human’ by Tanya Brittain - Words and Music and our very own eco song ‘Stand up for the world’

A huge highlight of the day was the spellbinding workshop from Beach Guardian who opened the children’s eyes to the impact of microplastics through hands‑on exploration.

We’re also excited to share that our project song, ‘Stand Up for the World’, created with songwriter Emily Barden, will soon be released to all schools — with a recording on its way shortly.

A massive thank you to all the schools, teachers, and young people who took part. Your voices, creativity and commitment to the planet made this project truly special.

Look out for more C*C Connections schools’ projects coming soon!

Lou and Jose have returned with another batch of ‘Fix You’ skirts for our Minack Theatre concert with Sonoro
Every piece is recycled and repurposed, staying true to what C*C stands for.

Our heartfelt thanks to Beach Guardianfor providing the netting.
All we need now is one more beach clean so the girls can add new treasures to their skirts!

Yesterday, the Cornwall Children’s Choir enjoyed a wonderful trip to Exeter! 🎶

After travelling up together by coach, the children rehearsed and performed with the Devon Junior Choir in the beautiful setting of Exeter Cathedral. They sang brilliantly and were a credit to the whole C*C family throughout the day — enthusiastic, kind and impeccably behaved.

After the concert at the Cathedral, the choir enjoyed a visit to Otters & Butterflies before heading home to Cornwall.

A huge thank you to all the staff, volunteers, parents and supporters who helped make the day possible — and especially to our amazing singers for making it such a memorable trip! ✨

C*C ECO BEATS AND GREEN ANTHEMS

A fabulous songwriting day with Newquay primary schools as part of Cornwall Youth Choirs’ C*C Connections:
Vocal Strategy for Schools funded by Cornwall Community Foundation through the Headland Fund who we thank for enabling this project to take place.

We spent a fun‑filled, creative day with songwriter Emily Barden, taking on the challenge of composing a brand‑new eco‑themed song for local schools — written entirely by the children in the workshop.
We can’t wait for you to hear the finished piece in our concert on Thursday 21st May at St Michaels church Newquay!
