What a weekend for Year 11 student Harry R! Harry was in England taking part in the School Games at Loughborough University, representing 🟢Northern Ireland🟢 as part of the Under 18 Wheelchair Basketball 3x3 team! 🏀🏀🏀
This was an incredible opportunity to experience competitive sport at a national level. The scores just didn't go the way of our boys from NI this time, but the camaraderie and the memories will linger forever. 🤩
These games are a springboard for young athletes into careers in athletics, with many going on to Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic success, so we look forward to seeing what the future holds for our Harry! Harry is young for this category, so maybe next year we'll be reporting a medal? We believe in you Harry! 🏅

This afternoon at exactly 2.24pm we were enthralled as the RAF Red Arrows flew over our school! Their formation and precision gave us a few seconds of awe, and the skies cleared to welcome them!

As school returns, we look back to our successful golf classic at the beginning of June 🏌️. A great day of golf, despite the poor weather conditions ☔️. Thank you again to everyone who took part👏.

We are delighted to share the news that our very own Eryn, in Year 11, has won the "Judges' Special Recognition Award" at The Impartial Reporter Community Champion Awards Ceremony, held this evening in the Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Lodges.
One of the judges, Esdelle Lappin, expands on Eryn's achievements before she receives her award from host, BBC Northern Ireland's weather guru, Barra Best. Well done to all the award nominees and winners...especially Eryn! 👏👏👏📸📸🏅

Our Year 13 and 14 pupils enjoyed an inspiring visit to the Ulster University Belfast Open Day. Ulster University - Study At Ulster
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to attend a wide range of lectures, explore exhibitions, and take part in campus tours, gaining valuable insight into university life and future study opportunities. A thoroughly engaging and enjoyable experience for all involved. Thanks to Mrs Daly for organising and Mrs McNeary and Ms Rice for accompanying our pupils! 👏👏👏

As our pupils, and staff, settle back into the rhythms of school life, we challenge all to look ahead and aim high. Seeing how former pupils have achieved in life is always inspirational.
We are delighted to share in Katie Adams' graduation joy! After completing Sixth Form courses in Art, Business and CPLD Katie went to Liverpool Hope University to study a BA Early Education (3–7) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).🎓👩‍🎓📚
Katie is currently seeking employment in the Early Years/Lower Primary areas, so if you're in need, you know who to contact! 🍎👩‍🏫
Katie tells us a little about her studies:
"The course developed my knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1, including how children develop, communicate, play and learn. Alongside university-based study, I completed placements in different schools, gaining practical experience in Nursery, Reception and Year 1. These placements allowed me to develop my skills in planning and delivering lessons, assessing children’s learning, adapting teaching to meet individual needs, and working as part of a school team. The course also helped me become a reflective practitioner, with a strong understanding of inclusive practice, communication and language, and effective teaching strategies."

And we're off for another year! The new Year 8 pupils have all arrived and families enjoyed a photo opportunity at their entrance with our Principal, Mrs Allen! 🤳📸📸
They look so smart and are ready to embrace all that Fivemiletown College has to offer them. 🤩🤩🤩
They have a busy morning with official photographs, team building, meeting their form teacher, a tour of the school and a treasure hunt!
Just look at their wee faces, full of future possibilities and bursting with enthusiasm! 🥰
