HOW YOU LEARN AT The EDGE School of Creative and Business
The majority of student learning takes place through a range of practical projects and activities common to the Creative Industries. As a student you will work in teams and undertake a range of professional roles. The practical projects include active industry type briefs for example: making a documentary film, creating an advertising campa
ign, photographing and editing a fashion shoot and planning, starting up and running a social enterprise business. You will recognise this type of learning with exciting real industry outcomes and experiences as relevant for future careers, it is a very engaging. YOUR CAREER STARTS AT The EDGE
You will work experience to gain real experience of the world of professional work and develop skills in professional conduct and customer/ client relations. We have a range of partnerships with creative and technical businesses, community focussed charities, social enterprises, groups and councils who will all provide The EDGE with a range of opportunities to help ensure you develop relevant industry and life skills and knowledge. As soon as you start at The EDGE the transition from learning to working begins. When you leave us after year 13 you will have made informed choices about your future pathway. Some of you will have started businesses, some will go on to University and some will secure work with local creative businesses or gain a place on a higher apprenticeship.
