This week, 3rd year School of Adventure Studies UHI students, Sam and Eli, are heading off on an international expedition to Japan as part of their studies βοΈπ
Their expedition will take them to one of Japanβs most biologically diverse and culturally rich islands, where theyβll explore the relationship between people, place, and time through immersive, place-based learning. The experience connects directly with their studies in adventure tourism, environmental understanding, and cultural perspectives of landscape.
Throughout their time abroad, theyβll be taking part in field-based learning, cultural experiences, and reflective practice - developing skills and insights that go beyond the classroom and into real-world adventure contexts.
We are looking forward to following their journey and sharing insights from their experience, offering a glimpse into what international expeditions and adventure learning can look like as part of the programme.
Good luck Sam and Eli π
