We offer many more options to our students than any single college or university can. We want to build pride in UHI because being part of it means we are all much more than we are individually. Spanning some of the most stunning areas of Scotland, we are shaped by extraordinary landscapes and the seas that surround us. Where we learn helps to define us. You will find us among the mountains and for

ests and on islands. In historic towns and cities, hi-tech research parks, and state-of-the art learning environments. We bring together our collective expertise, uniting more than 30,000 students through our sense of place and purpose. More than most, we stand for diversity and opportunity. We offer more choice, more courses and more ways to learn. Our students can study at one of our campuses, world-class research centres, local learning centres, or online from wherever they want or need to be. We offer an outstanding experience, unlike anywhere else. UHI, where learning means more.

Our Fashion & Textiles students have had a busy week in the studio as they begin work on their final garments! 👗🧵

From cutting out pieces of their chosen fabrics to sewing together the first panels, it’s incredible to see their ideas taking shape so quickly.

Each garment is completely unique, reflecting the designer’s personality, style, and chosen trends. We can’t wait to see the finished creations! 🎨✂️

Thinking about trying something practical while still at school? 👩‍🍳

Zinnia, an S4 pupil at Mallaig High School, is studying NPA Professional Cookery through our Senior Phase programme while still at school. She travels to Fort William to attend college and gain hands-on experience in the kitchen.

💬 “I’ve always loved cooking and baking, and I was excited by the chance to study something practical while still at school.”

The course has also helped her build confidence, independence and time-management skills - especially balancing schoolwork with college and travelling between Mallaig and Fort William.

Although Zinnia hopes to study medicine in the future, she says the skills she’s gained through the course will help prepare her for university and life after school.

Her advice to other pupils?

💬 “Go for it. It’s a great opportunity to do something vocational and practical alongside school. It also adds some variety to your timetable.”

Great to see our newest CECA Civil Engineering & Construction cohort getting stuck in 👷‍♂️

The group who started in January have been hard at work already - from mixing concrete by hand to excavating holes and trenches, they’re building practical skills from day one.

A huge thank you to CECA Scotland Academy and Suresafe Protection Ltd for supplying the new PPE, ensuring students are properly kitted out as they begin their training.
