Today The Manor of Gillingham Lodge 3983 donated a large quantity of chocolate to Pembroke House in Gillingham.

Pembroke House is part of the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust and has looked after and cared for a number of past member of the Lodge.

Built originally as an orphanage in the 1920s, Pembroke House was converted into a residential home in 1952. In 2002 and 2012 it was substantially extended and modernised to become the fine care home that it is today. The staff provide care and support to the highest standards in a bright and welcoming environment.

We hope all the residents and staff at Pembroke House enjoy the chocolate.

The Lodge thank you all for your hard work

Manor of Gillingham Lodge 3983 was formed over 100 years ago in 1919.

Our centre is based in Wigmore, close to Gillingham, Rainham and Hempstead Valley in Kent.

Our current members are a mixture of ages and come from a wide range of backgrounds which include tradesmen, professional businessmen and professional workers who engage positively with the local community.

Membership is open to people from all backgrounds and our aim is to empower members to be the best they can be.

Manor of Gillingham gives members many opportunities to make friends for life.

Freemasonry is all about building character and we support members as individuals. This allows members to develop self-confidence and transferable skills such as public speaking.

Whether taking part in social events or fundraising, charity is at the very heart of what we do. Our members make valuable contributions to deserving local causes. These include;

We support local charities which include;

Demelza House

Teddies for Loving Care

Masonic Salmon Trout Fishing

Various local foodbanks

Combat Stress

We meet 8 times per year between the months of September and April on the 4th Monday of the month.

Our Lodge meetings are typically held in two parts. The first involves procedures, such as proposing and balloting for new members and receiving news about charitable fundraising. The second part focuses on ritual.

We enjoy the ritualistic side of Freemasonry and encourage all our members to join in should they so wish. Members who progress more slowly than others are given the full support of members and can be joined up with a mentor who will support them through their ritual.

Meetings are also social events, providing an occasion for our members to dine together. Outside of the Lodge, activities include community fundraising and volunteering activities, as well as a varied programme of events where spouses, partners and families are welcome.

These include historical trips, theatre trips, meals out, beer & wine tasting, quiz and race nights and sporting events.

If you share our core values of Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity and would like to find out more, please get in touc
