Well done to our Entry to Childcare Practice students in Greenock, who have been running a Stay and Play & Bookbug session at our Waterfront Campus for the past few months. These sessions have been well attended by children and families from the local community, and feedback has been excellent.

The group had an exciting visitor this week to mark the last of these sessions - none other than Bookbug himself! Congratulations to all involved, especially our Bookbug leader! And best of luck with your continued studies 📚

What a fantastic day at our Paisley campus this week!
We welcomed 32 Primary 6 pupils from Lochfield Primary School to test games designed by our HNC Computer Games Development students as part of our annual project—now in its 10th year.
From the initial school visits to understand the pupils’ ideas, to seeing those ideas brought to life in creative, unique games, this project is a brilliant example of collaboration in action.
The excitement in the room said it all—with pupils loving the experience (and even talking about future careers in gaming!).
Well done to our winning team, Mustachio Games 👏

West College Scotland has once again partnered with Lochfield Primary School to deliver its highly successful HNC Computer Games Development student project—now celebrating its 10th year.

Our Childhood Practice – Educational Support Assistant students have been busy bringing their ‘Working with Others / Problem Solving’ unit to life.

Working in partnership with our Pre-Apprenticeship Joinery and Construction students, and local primary schools, the class planned and delivered projects from start to finish – creating outdoor resources that will make a real difference to children’s learning experiences.

Our Lady of Loretto received a fantastic mud kitchen, sustainably built from recycled pallets while St Stephen’s received a creative outdoor learning space – “The Book Nook” boat.

Huge well done to everyone involved – the equipment looks absolutely fantastic, and we’re sure the children will enjoy hours of fun and learning using it! 👏
