Nautical Student Graduating in Summer 2026?

Seapeak Betsy Miller Graduation Award is now open for nominations.

The award aims to celebrate cadets who have gone out of their way to make the cadet experience better for those around them. This could be standing up against unfair behaviour both at sea and onshore, cadets who have consistently gone above and beyond to support fellow cadets with studies or wellbeing, or have organised cadet events or supported in improving training and industry specific issues.

Cadets can self-nominate or nominate their peers! All nominees should be graduating in the 2026 Summer Graduation Ceremony. Nominations can be made by following the QR code.

We’re proud to highlight the continued success of our partnership with BAE Systems through the delivery of the NPA Engineering (SCQF Level 5) at City of Glasgow College.

This collaboration is providing Senior Phase pupils with direct access to industry, combining practical workshop learning with meaningful employer engagement.

Through this programme, learners benefit from:
🔧 Hands-on engineering experience
🏭 Industry insight from BAE Systems specialists
📍 Work experience within a live shipbuilding environment
🎯 Interview preparation and clear progression pathways

A key strength of the programme is the sustained involvement from BAE Systems throughout, helping learners understand not just what to do, but how to succeed in the workplace.

Most importantly, successful learners are guaranteed an interview for a Steelwork Apprenticeship, creating a direct route into employment.
