This year the Traditional Music Department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is celebrating their 30th anniversary and is delighted to be hosting a reunion for alumni. Since establishing the BA Scottish Music degree course in 1996, hundreds of musicians have studied in the department, sharing excellence, forming long lasting collaborations and contributing greatly to the wider Scottish Music community.

Now in their 2025 / 2026 academic year, the department goes from strength to strength, housing the only Bachelor of Music degree dedicated to traditional and folk music in the UK, where aspiring performers on the course explore Scotland’s unique and dynamic musical traditions as a conceptual, critical and creative framework within which to achieve a distinctly personal artistic voice.

We welcome Traditional and Scottish Music alumni to join us for a gathering of old friends and new to share stories and memories from their time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Please join us from 6.00pm to celebrate this milestone with the RCS traditional music alumni and staff at the National Piping Centre. There will be a welcome drink on arrival and a cash bar for the evening. The bar will remain open after the end of the official event.

Registration link in bio.
