Join us next week on Tuesday the 24th of March for our last social of the academic year!! We’ll be having a pub quiz in the QMU Games Bar, which will be beginning at 8pm!

‼️We will be having our AGM beforehand starting at 7pm, so please come if you’d like to run for a position or vote in the election! Our vacant roles have already been announced on instagram if you’re thinking of running!

Otherwise we look forward to seeing you, and there will be prizes for the winning team!!

It’s almost our 2026 AGM!!!!

If you’ve ever wanted to be more involved in the History Society, considering running for a position on our committee!!!

This year our AGM will be held on March 26th at 7pm in the QMU, before our last social of the year!!! More information on that social is coming soon!!

📢If you’re planning on running for any role in particular, please don’t forget to prepare a small speech (less than a minute), explaining why you would like the role, and why you’d would be good for it!

Otherwise, if you’re not planning on running, please consider coming along just to vote!! We look forward to seeing you there!

We’ve rescheduled our trip to the Archives for Friday the 20th of March, between 2-3:30pm. The University Archives are located at 13 Thurso Street.

Tickets are free from our SRC page (link in bio), but are limited due to space in the University Archives. We ask that if you attended our previous sessions in the last semester, to not book this time round, to allow others to get a chance at going into the University Archives.

(‼️) You will need a ticket to come into the archives. Please keep your email receipt as we will be checking this before our visit.

(❗️) If you are no longer able to make the session, please DM us and let us know at your earliest convenience , so we can make sure that your space can go to someone else. If you already booked a ticket for this Friday, but are unable to make it, please let us know.

Join us next Wednesday the 11th of March, for our last mini lecture of the semester, taking place between 5-6pm in room 361 of the James Watt Building.

We’ll be hearing from Anna Calori, a lecturer in contemporary economics history, about Engineering Global Socialism: Ownership, Non-Alignment and Corporate Culture in a Bosnian Company.

Next week on the 6th of March we’ll be having another trip to the University Archives, where we’ll be getting a tour from the archivists!

There are two sessions with limited tickets due to space within the archives. Tickets are completely free, but MUST be purchases at the History Society SRC page (link in the bio). We also ask that if you attended the previous sessions to not rebook again, to let others attend, but also as the tour will be the same as the last sessions.

(‼️)You will need a ticket to get into the archive, and this will be checked prior to the session, so please keep the email with your purchase receipt.

(❕)Also if you purchase a ticket, but can no longer make it please let us know by DMing us!! Just so that the tickets can be given to someone else.

GET YOURS NOW AT THE LINK IN THE BIO!!!

Tickets bought online at our SRC Page (check bio) will be £5 for members and £7 for nonmembers!
On the door they will be £7.

Tickets include half a bottle of wine (with non-alcoholic options available), the ceilidh, and a photographer who will be around to take pictures throughout the night!!

Wine & Wine will be on Tuesday 3rd of March in the GU Dining Room and will start from 7pm with ceilidh beginning at 8pm.

Dress code is semi formal and dresses, skirts and shirts are encouraged!!

This event will not just be for history students and so if you just want to dance and have fun, come along and bring your friends!! We look forward to seeing you there!!

This event is supported by grant funding from the Students’ Representative Council, which aims to support and elevate student-led initiatives that create more inclusive, accessible and engaging opportunities for the wider student community.

Meet us at the University Library at 7pm, where groups (of up to 4 people) will be sent out to complete various tasks and answer questions. Afterwards, we’ll all meet up at Old Schoolhouse where we’ll be handing out prizes!!!
