Welcome to the official Glasgow University Tennis Club page! You can find our official GUT website here:
Glasgow University Tennis Club (GUT) is one of the largest and most active sports clubs on campus! With around
members, and tennis and related activities every single day of the week, Glasgow University Students should definitely think about joining GUT! Whether you’re the new And
y Murray or you’ve never picked up a racket before everybody is welcome, WE WANT YOU TO JOIN! All ability levels are catered for, whether you’re interested in playing for the team or just want to learn a new sport. The GUT Teams - 2 Ladies and 3 Gents teams - compete across Scotland throughout the year against other universities, in BUCS Leagues and the Scottish Cup. Matches are held on Wednesdays: why don't you try out for a team, or just come along and support? We also compete in Aegon Team Tennis in the Autumn. The club also hosts tournaments and leagues throughout the year for members to play against each other in a friendly but competitive environment. This year in GUT we have brought in a Head Coach, Sam Pointon, to plan and run the training sessions. GUT hosts two coaching sessions per week, run and assisted by professional, qualified coaches, at both outdoor and indoor venues. We also offer more casual practice sessions on Mondays and Fridays. Furthermore, if you're a team player, we hold team training on Monday and Tuesday morning and official team coaching on Friday evening. Due to such high demand of competetive tennis players we have our very own development team. Trainings are planned by our Head Coach and take place on a wednesday morning and Monday 1pm at Kelvingrove. The development team will also have a chance to compete in the development league, very similar to BUCS! General Member:

Sunday: Indoor Coaching (all abilities) 7pm - 9pm David Lloyd West End

The club also offers exciting socials throughout the year to allow members to get to know each other off the court (quite a lot of our members are just 'social members' anyway). These include the SubCrawl, Pub Golf, all-whites neon nights, Club Dinners, GUSA Ball, Alumni Ceilidhs, GUToberfest, Hallowe'en Flat Crawl, and lots of chances to dress up. To top it all, at the end of each year some GUT members get to escape the Glasgow weather for the annual GUT Tour: a chance to experience the sun, sea, sand, booze (and tennis courts?) of some foreign land! Past tours have been to Barcelona, Malaga and Portugal! If you have any questions feel free to fire us an email! Find us our Facebook Group, for a social forum for Glasgow Tennis:
