Careers drop-ins next week 📢

Drop-In sessions are ideal for any quick careers related questions that you may have, for example advice on further study, preparing a CV or searching for a job. These sessions operate on a first come first served basis, so please do try to arrive as early as possible to ensure that you can speak to an adviser.

Drop-ins schedule for the week beginning 1st June:

Monday 1st June 11AM – 12PM

Tuesday 2nd June 12PM – 1PM

Thursday 4th June 11AM – 12PM

Friday 5th June 1PM – 2PM

Each of these sessions will take place in the Careers Centre, Campus Life Lounge, George Moore building. We always do our best to ensure that these sessions take place every day, but sometimes circumstances may dictate that we have to alter the time or cancel a session at short notice. If travelling to the campus specifically for one of these sessions, please check in advance that there has been no alteration to the time on that particular day. Keep a watch on our blog and social media (Facebook, Instagram) to find out about any last minute changes that may affect the times listed above.

What you'll do:
Be the face customers trust to guide them on their wellness journey
Keep shelves stocked, displays looking great, and promotions running smoothly
Maintain high standards of compliance, safety, and store presentation
Complete our Qualified to Advise training, so you can support customers with trusted expertise
Showcase your growing expertise by recommending products and solutions
Work together with your team to achieve store targets and deliver outstanding results
Act as a Health and Wellness Ambassador for our customers

Who you are:
A natural communicator with excellent people skills
Passionate about health, wellness, and curious to keep learning
A team player with the ability to multi-task and stay organised
Comfortable with technology using tablets for product reviews and solutions
Previous retail or customer facing experience is a bonus, but your passion and attitude matter most plus we'll provide full training

Congratulations to Bennet Obeng Atuah, BSc/BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science student, on completing the GCU Employability Award! 🏅

While achieving the Award, she participated in Grow. Aspire. Lead (GAL) Programme by GCU Careers Service, the BME Careers Festival and Black History Month Careers events. She also worked as a GCU Student helper at open days and as a GCU Student Mentor.

She reflects on her experience:

"I am grateful for the GCU employability award as it has allowed me to see how much of an impact, I make in the volunteering roles and jobs that I do as well as the many skills I have gained from them."
