Thank you to all that attended our recent Irish Varsity Debate with and on Friday 20th at the Playfair Library!

We debated the motion “This House Believes that celebrating Irishness abroad does more for the culture than celebrating it at home”, as well as receiving some wonderful talks regarding culture in the Scottish-Irish diaspora 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇮🇪

Aymaan ‘Sheikh Aymaan’ Sheikh strikes again! Alongside breaks from Josh ‘99 Flake’ Stone, Adam ‘Unc’ Mallis, Zainab ‘Never Shows up for R1’ Sardar. On the novice side, Anna ‘PM in prep’ Winkelmann and Adya ‘Only shows up to break’ Verma. Nora ‘The Explorer’ Flynn-McIver also tabs!

Recently some of our members were invited to debate at two conferences for their attendees.

Working with industry professionals;
Hannah and Drystan debated 'THB that AI is an existential threat to the conference industry' at the ICCA conference in Edinburgh,
While Ruby and Alex debated 'THB that the business events sector is inherently a poor long term career choice' at the Visit Scotland National Events Conference in Glasgow.

Another final with 3 EUDU teams, another competition ripped from our hands by Ziyad!

3 Teams in the final and we still lose to CG?

Have you ever seen a competition where 75% of the breaking teams are the same institution? EUDU truly dominated Mace this year!

Eoghan and Tom break with a flawless 15 points while Josh and Aymaan do equally well on the speaker tab as best and 2nd best speakers!

On the judge side we also see Eli breaking as a CA, Lorin panelling a semi and Alex panelling the grand final!

Overall an amazing set of results for EUDU as we continue or domination of SSDC!

A speaker in every out round?!

Trinity IV is so successful that our judges are being clashed out of the entire event! The Oxford IV of Ireland sees EUDU in its very best form with 6 breaking speakers and 6 breaking judges!

Cyrus and Zainab light up the tab breaking 2nd and making the grand finals while Ruby and Nuan lock in and make not only break but semi finals! Eli and Josh also put on incredible performances and break!

On the judging side, EUDU had a judge in every round it was possible to have one, and Zohha managed to get into one beyond this! (And eliminates and EUDU team)

Overall an amazing performance on all fronts and special congratulations to the breaking novices; Charlie FW and Zohha!
