Just had an update on the job description for an International Freight Forwarder Level 3 in Basildon;

This apprenticeship offers a hands-on opportunity to build a career in Freight. You will gain practical, real world experience across both sea freight and air freight operations, developing skills in customs procedures, shipment coordination, and customer service. With structured training and daily exposure to live shipments, this programme provides a strong foundation for a career in the industry.
As an apprentice you will be trained across all aspects of the shipping process from start to finish. Due to our lean structure, you will benefit from direct involvement in day-to-day operations and gain a full understanding of how the business works. As well as that, You will work in a busy office environment as part of a small team, gaining practical, hands-on experience. This role offers a varied workload and regular interaction with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Your typical duties will include
Submitting customs entries to HMRC in line with current regulations
Handling LCL (Less than Container Load) export shipments
Managing FCL (Full Container Load) export processes
Coordinating air freight shipments from start to finish
Supporting with general administration, including processing supplier invoices
Assisting with preparing and sending customer quotations
