Many congratulations to Clare Rusbridge, Professor of Veterinary Neurology at the University of Surrey. Professor Rusbridge received the 2022 Impact Award from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for her clinical work and research into syringomyelia, a painful disease affecting the brain and spinal cord. Her work has had a massive impact on the welfare of dogs affected by this disease and their owners.

Congratulations to two of our recent graduates on the publication of the Knowledge Summaries, that they wrote for their final year portfolio, in the peer reviewed journal RCVS Veterinary Evidence.

Evie Dunthorne wrote a review of the evidence for use of non-steroidal analgesia vs local anaesthesia for tail docking in lambs.

Surrey's Professor Clare Rusbridge is leading Wednesday's session at 7pm, focusing on Wobbler syndrome. They are free to join and any donation is gratefully received.

Slate Hall is a specialist poultry practice with 12 veterinarians operating from offices in Cambridgeshire, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. They have an extensive and varied client base, working with both large integrated and smaller independent producers of broilers, broiler breeders, commercial layers, turkeys, ducks and game birds.

They are seeking to recruit a new graduate to join the team and undertake a 1-year training programme based in our Metheringham and Shrewsbury practices. This role involves a combination of post-mortem examinations, site visits, sampling, diagnostics and data interpretation to investigate health, performance and welfare issues for clients.
