Today is International Day of Families. We wanted to take a moment to highlight our Family Study Room.
The Family Study Room in the Library is a dedicated study space designed for students with children. Here you can work and study in a family-friendly, secure space alongside your children.

The space, located on level 2 of the Library, features a study area as well as a variety of comfortable furniture suitable for both adults and children, along with a selection of toys, books and small games.

Beautiful wall decorations from our Archives and Special Collections showcase illustrations from E.H. Shepard’s Winnie-the-Pooh. While the area is designed with students who have children up to 12 years old in mind, children of all ages are welcome.

You must register and have an induction before you can use the room, please follow the link below for more information on how to register.

Essential IT Maintenance will be happening on Tuesday, 14 April, from 18:00 until 22:00.

During this time, wired network services in the Library will be unavailable.

This means:

Desktop PCs and networked printers may not work.
Access to network drives may be unavailable.
Wired desk phones may be impacted.

Wireless (Wi-Fi) is expected to remain available, but may be intermittent.

What you should do:

Save your work regularly
Avoid relying on network drives during this period.
Consider using your own device on Wi-Fi if possible.

Services are expected to return by 22:00.

Congratulations Eden & Yuki!

A huge well-done to Eden and Yuki for winning the Library – Next Chapter Challenge with their brilliant “Library of Things” initiative!

Their idea will let students borrow practical tools and equipment directly from the Library — think toolkits, adapters, small event items and more. A great way to save money, reduce waste, and support students in a sustainable way.

A big thank-you to everyone who took part. The Library will be working with all finalists to help develop their ideas further.
