Nearly 500 years of history and we want to share it with you. 📜

Prior Pursglove College holds one of the region's most remarkable academic archives, from an Elizabethan Charter authorising education on this very site, to artefacts spanning centuries of Guisborough's history.

We were recently joined by Lord Evans of Guisborough, a former student and House of Lords member who toured the collection curated by history lecturer Richard Blom and his students. The visit has sparked exciting conversations about bringing the archive into the public eye for anyone with an interest in local history or the wider heritage of Teesside.

We think these stories deserve to be told. Watch this space. 👀

'None of us will be here long term, and we need to take care of these artefacts and catalogue them'

They’re off!!

Students from and have began their exciting journey to Sri Lanka as part of The Atomix Educational Trust international programme.

Over the next two weeks, students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture, support local communities through volunteering projects, develop valuable life skills and create memories that will stay with them for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of all of the students taking part and wish them a safe journey as they begin this amazing adventure.

Throughout the trip, we will be sharing photographs, updates and stories from the group, so keep an eye on our social media channels to follow their journey and experiences in Sri Lanka.

Have a fantastic time everyone – we cannot wait to see what you get up to!

🏛️ An incredible trip coming up for our History students — and it's only £5.

On Monday 6 July we're heading to the English Heritage Archaeological Store in Helmsley (not usually open to the public!) and Rievaulx Abbey. Students will get a behind-the-scenes tour, the chance to handle real historical artefacts, and a guided talk on climate change and conservation.

Coach leaves Prior Pursglove College at 9:10am, back by 3pm. If you're studying the Dissolution of the Monasteries — or just love history — this is one not to miss.

Speak to Natalie Austin to book your place.

Our students are doing something pretty special.

This week, as part of the Blue Influencer Project, students placed the first ever beach library box at Skinningrove — a free, community book-sharing spot right on the coast. Two more boxes are going out next week.

They also took part in a spring Kittiwake survey, counting 24 nesting pairs on the cliffs — data that will be shared with Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.

This is the kind of hands-on, real-world learning that makes a real difference. Brilliant work everyone.

☕ Our Endeavour Coffee Morning last week was a brilliant start to the day — and proof that a warm welcome, a good cake, and the right conversation can make all the difference.

Families, providers and future students came along to find out more about what Endeavour offers for young people with a range of learning needs across our region. Our fantastic student ambassadors were there to greet everyone, and our specialist team were on hand to talk through individual needs and next steps.

These events happen regularly — if you'd like to be added to the mailing list for future dates, get in touch and we'll make sure you're the first to know!
