Today marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness week, and this year the theme is 'Action'.

This year focuses on taking practical steps to support good mental health, aimed at reducing the powerlessness often felt when facing mental health challenges. It is an invitation for all of us to take that next step. Your action can be something you do for yourself, for someone else, or for all of us.

Whatever action looks like for you, it matters. When millions of small actions happen at once, they have the power to create a healthier, kinder, more connected society for everyone and good mental health for all

April is Stress Awareness Month, a time to focus on reducing stress, fostering a happier, healthier, and more resilient world. 🧠🩷

This year's theme is Lead with Love, encouraging us to approach ourselves and others with kindness, compassion, and acceptance, no matter the challenges we face. With managing work, caring responsibilities and thinking about the future alongside juggling exams and coursework deadlines, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed as a student.

Talking to someone can allow you to acknowledge and process what you are feeling, an important skill that will serve you well during times of stress.

University Mental Health Day takes place every March to get the nation talking about student wellbeing and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority. 🧠❤️

The theme for 2026 is human connection. Strong social relationships are integral to us all for enjoying positive mental health. Connection is what makes us human.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed at University, and we want to ensure that no student ever feels alone with their mental health. Today is International Women’s Day, a day to recognise and celebrate the history and achievements of women, as well as prompt us to raise awareness and take action to progress gender equality.

This year’s theme is 'Give to Gain', a call to help forge gender equality through abundant giving. When people, organisations and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. When women thrive, we all rise. Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world. .🌍

This week is which is all about shining a light on the fantastic contribution apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the economy.
